Plugs and Hooks.

A hook/plug are usually posted on magazine font covers for potential consumers to look at and tempt them to purchase the magazine or give them a sneak peak of what is inside, here are a few examples;

All of these hooks/plugs are mostly compoased of things that are benefical to the consumer or are thigns that everyone wants to know. For example free tickets to Channel 4 on the beach summer party, most people would like to go their, hence by purchasing the magazine it will improve their chances.

Other plugs may be based on stories that everyone wants to know about for example 'KATIE AND PETER WHAT REALLY HAPPENED.'

This will be a vital aspect of my magazine and will have to be thought about deeply if i want it to communicate with my target audience effectively and make them want to purchase it.
