Magazine Analysis 1. NME Content.




*Due to this NME issue being completely based around OASIS, there is not a normal contents page, this is more like a memoir magazine issue. Instead a more personalised and uncommon contents page has been used.

*Little text has been used on this place, the main image has been silhouetted on the page in order to act more of an impact. The impact is added because you cannot see their faces but only their profile and the props around them, these being lighting a guitars this was either done at a studio or at a 'gig'. By using this image technique things appear more important and dramatic.

*Towards the top left of the page a emblem is has been created a word which keeps re- appearing not only on the front cover of the magazine but also inside is 'special' connotating that this is a one off and only issue with OASIS they will only be disputed by NME.
Another patriotic influence has appeared in the emblem near the brothers faces this being the two lions which resemble those of the English lions. This is key as the majority of artists that appear to be american in most of the music magazines today so most British ones often use certain objects, concepts and ideologies of england to portray this, examples incude;

KID BRITISH- often uses british bus stops and London skylines for his album covers.























CHIPMUNK - uses british slang within most of his songs

THE BEATLES- using famous british landmarks for their album covers etc.


















* A plug has been used on what would normally be the contents page, what is most unusual. The plus advertises more promotions and extra videos, articles and images by internet access to NME.com. This portrays that NME are up to date with the current trends since over 90% of people have access to the internet at home, and those who don't still have access via other means, the internet is becoming very dominant. So by having this they can ensure that they are still capturing their target audience and are expanding into the other media's.

* A small piece of texts goes on to discuss NME and OASIS. A drop cap has been used which is in a larger size and with than the other fronts this is common in all magazines.

*Towards the bottom of the page the customer is given the opportunity to 'SUBSCRIBE' Another financial strategy has been used because it offers the subscriber with money of each issue, and what with the current economic decline it does help.
